7. Scoring a Tennis Match in StatInput

Game Point-by-Point Scoring

StatInput supports point-by-point game scoring as a feature for those who wish to utilize it. Each point in a single game of the set can be tracked.

Point-by-Point scoring is optional; if you wish, you may choose not to use it and simply score sets.

Note: The match score/court status will not update until you click Finish and finalize the court.

Set the Order of Finish

To mark a court as finished, you'll need to set the Order of Finish. If you are not specifically tracking order of finish or if a court is abandoned as unfinished, you can simply select 'Finished'. Click 'Save Changes' to update the match.

If you need to make changes to a finished court, you will need to click the blue 'Change Finish' button and switch the Order of Finish back to 'Unfinished' first; changes cannot be made to a court marked as finished.

Editing Pairings on the Fly

If you need to make changes to your pairings mid-match, click the light blue 'Edit Pairings' button near the top of the page to open the pairings window.

Editing Pairings on the Fly

You can edit pairings directly in the window and save your changes using the button at the bottom of the popup.

Please note that the same pairing rules apply (players cannot appear on more than one court and all pairings must be complete). Also any scores that have already been entered for the court will remain even if a pairing is updated with different players.

Adding additional exhibition courts

If you need to add additional courts (such as exhibition matches that will be played during the dual), you can do so at the bottom of the 'Edit Pairings' window.

Please note that only exhibition courts can be added mid-match. Match scoring rules must be set and changed prior to the beginning of scoring that match.

You can click on either the Doubles or Singles heading to collapse the court view. This will hide the individual courts from your view (but not live stats or reports) to make it easier to track singles courts once doubles have concluded.

Turning off Auto-save functionality

By default, auto-save is enabled and will automatically save and update stats as you make changes. However, should you wish to deactivate this feature, simply uncheck the box near the top of the screen labeled 'Auto-save on updates'.

Save all changes at once

If you have edited multiple courts at once, you can save them all simultaneously using the 'Save All Changes' button near the top of the page.

Auto-sync Changes

Auto-sync changes can be toggled on and off using the checkbox near the top of the page.

When enabled, Auto-sync changes will automatically update your screen with changes made to the match in another application or by another person. This can be helpful when you have multiple people keeping score for the same match to make sure that any changes made on another computer will show live on your screen as well.

You can also check for updated data at any time by clicking the blue 'Update' button near the top of the page.
